Our new IMPACT 1048-CPU cluster called Pyramid is now available ! Pyramid is composed of 131 Sun X2200 M2 servers, dual socket quad-core Opteron 2.2 GHz with 8GB of RAM; for a total of 1048 cores. The cluster can deliver a theoritical peak of 9.2 TFLOPS. The nodes are interconnected with stackable GigE switches. The main purpose of the cluster is to support the computing needs of the Institute of Massively Parallel Applications and Computing Technologies (IMPACT) faculty and students.
For other departments inside GWU, a brief proposal describing the project and computational needs should be submitted for approval in order to get accounts on the cluster. System Overview - 131 nodes SUN X2200 M2 X64 cluster
- 2x AMD quad core Opteron processor @ 2.2 Ghz (Model 2354, 95W, B3)
- 4x 2GB Registered ECC DDR2-667 Memory
- 500 GB SATAII Seagate Hard drives for compute nodes (128 nodes)
- 2 X 1 TB SATAII Seagate Hard drives for head and server nodes (3 nodes)
